- I have to say that I have been blown away ( once again) by the technology of the RSS news feeds. It’s been a snow day again today, so I have spent a good deal of time looking through numerous sites that offer information on Web 2.0 tools and how they are used in the classroom. I joined Classroom 2,0 ( a ning ) and subscribed to a number of other library sites including several areas of the School Library Journal, Will Richardson’s ed blog, Tech4Teachers, and probably a few more I have forgotten about. I just wonder how I will have time to read them, but I can whittle it down if I need to when I find what is really valuable for me. At first, I signed up for some art related feeds, but decided that my real interest was in the library area right now, as that is the main way I want to try and connect with teachers in their classrooms. I think the art sites would be interesting if I was producing art - maybe down the road. After I looked at websites I knew about to find if they had RSS, I did a google search on GoogleReader to see if I had missed anything. I found that I had already viewed much of what my search found. If I unsubscribed to any, I will do some further searching at the other sites suggested in Will’s book. I really think that staff would love to learn about this resource. I wonder if students already use it.
This blog will serve as a place for Garner teachers to discuss the use of Web 2.0 tools. I hope that as you begin to explore the possibilities of the Read, Write Web, that you will share your ideas, concerns, and successes with your colleagues.
